Luckily for us 2016 is all about bare-faced beauty, we started to see makeup becoming more natural when contouring turned to strobing last year and this year it’s going to be even more laidback.
To pull off the no makeup makeup look you really have to start at the very bottom, with your skincare.
We know it can get boring hearing people say you need to look after your skin, wear an SPF, take your makeup off properly etc. but isn’t that a LOT easier than shadowing and blending your face?! Invest in a good skincare routine and it will seriously change your makeup game.

Bold Liquid Lipsticks

Liquid lipsticks are the product of the moment! Stila Cosmetics were one of the first to introduce the new formula onto the market with their Stay All Day Liquid Lipsticks and since then they are appearing everywhere! From Anastasia Beverly Hills to Too Faced and NYX there’s an option to suit every budget.
The best thing about liquid lipsticks is you really don’t need to worry about eye makeup as a bold lip can transform your look in a flash.
Secondly, the long-lasting formula means that once you’ve got it on you’re good to go and you don’t have to worry about it coming off! Woohoo!

Strobing, contouring’s younger sister is so much easier to pull off, no dark colours involved! All you need to perfect the trend is a liquid or cream highlighter. By applying the highlighter to the areas that your face naturally reflects light (your cheekbones, cupid’s bow, brow bones) not only will this accentuate these areas but it looks so naturally gorgeous!

Bold Blue Eyes

We know bold colours can look scary initially but the great thing is there’s so many different ways you can add colour to your look. Bold, bright colours were seen all over the Spring 2016 catwalks especially in the form of bold blues. Of course doing it all over your lids like at Diane Von Furstenberg could take a little blending practice so why not try spicing up your eyeliner instead? Hugo Boss and Monique Lhuillier were just some of the brands adding blue to their beauty through bold eyeliner flicks. Easy and on trend, we love!

Gloss is making a comeback and not only on your lips! Glossy eyes and lips have been spotted all over the top beauty pages and it couldn’t be easier to recreate. Add some shine to your favourite lip colour by applying a gloss on top or to keep it laidback and high fashion go for a nude or clear gloss along with glossy eyes.
Of course you don’t want your eyes to have that sticky glossy feel that many lip glosses have so we suggest going for Elizabeth Arden’s Eight Hour Cream (£26) on your lids. Nourishing for your skin as well as giving a glossy finish to both eyes and lips. It couldn’t be easier!
