Top Cruelty Free Cosmetics Brands

Calling all animal lovers! We know, like us, that you just love looking glam but can’t that be difficult when some of the world’s most well known brands are testing on your beloved furry friends.

Beauty giant L’Oreal who have come under fire in the past for their testing on animals, are about to make waves in the beauty world when they begin testing on man made human skin. According to The Washington Post they have collaborated with a 3D human-tissue company to create human skin that they can use in the future for testing their cosmetics. We won’t bore you with the details, but sounds cool right?!

Although there are still many beauty companies testing their products on animals there are also a lot of well known brands that have gone completely cruelty free with some now even going gluten free too. We’ve got a list of our top 20 cruelty free brands below to help you in perfecting your animal-friendly glam look!

Probably most well known for their famous Lip Tars, (they’re so fab!) OCC makeup is 100% vegan as well as cruelty free so you can get that gorgeous liquid lipstick look without feeling guilty.

2.     Urban Decay

Yes, your favourite Naked palettes are completely animal friendly, woohoo! Urban Decay does the most lust-worth palettes and they are collaborating with Gwen Stefani! Could they get any cooler?!

3.     The Balm

Relatively new to the beauty world, The Balm cosmetics reminds us so much of Benefit Cosmetics thanks to it’s retro girly feel. Their Mary-Lou Manizer is a makeup artist favourite! As well as being cruelty free, The Balm is also paraben-free.

4.     Smashbox

Their primers are a must-try and their BB Water is making waves in the beauty world! Smashbox never tests their products on animals, yay!

The queen of brows, we are so happy about this one! Now everyone can use dipbrow and get gorgeous guilt free brows!

7.     NYX Cosmetics

Just because they are on the cheaper side of the makeup scale doesn’t mean they aren’t animal friendly! NYX is 100% cruelty free, so they are friendly on animals as well as your purse ;)

8.     Barry M

Another ‘drugstore’ brand, Barry M is super committed to making sure that it is animal friendly and also prohibit their products being sold in countries such as China where animal testing is very common. Go Barry M!

9.     Illamasqua

One of our own! British favourite Illamasqua is one of the most creative brands we know, among their bright colours, Halloween collections and vampy glam ranges they never test on animals. Their brushes, which we adore, are also vegan.

Too Faced is probably one of the prettiest brands out there, their heart shaped blushes look so amazing on our dressing table and the ‘Better Than Sex’ mascara is so wow! They also love animals as much as we do, yay!

Jaclyn Hill’s collabs with Becca get us weak at the knees! Champagne Pop was a huge success and she’s got another palette coming out too! Yay!

Not only animal friendly but also gluten and paraben free! Also have you seen their Holiday collection?! Those sparkly eyelash curlers have our name written all over them!

Tattooed goddess Kat Von D created her makeup line Kat Von D Beauty back in 2008 and it has gone from strength to strength! We adore how the product packaging reflects Kat’s style; the Studded Kiss Lipsticks are so cool!

We just love this quote taken from the Colour Pop website,

We are 100% fur baby friendly, bunny approved, and only test our products on humans – the ones in our HQ to be exact.”

“Fur baby friendly” is our fave! We love Colour Pop!
